Turbo Clean Rotatory Handpiece Maintenance
After lubricanting rotatory (turbines, contra-angles, micromotors), it is recommended to store them vertically in a head-down position (upside down) for a few minutes prior to sterilization.
Additional Best Practices:
- After lubrication, purge /run the handpiece for a few seconds (according to the manufacturer´s instructions) to distribute the oil evenly.
- Place the instrument upside down on a stand or absorbent paper for 1-5 minutes.
- Wipe off any visible excess oil before pouching.
- Always follow the manufacturer´s instructions, as some automated systems may alter the procedure.

Why store upside down:
- Allows excess lubricant to drain properly, preventing accumulation within the handpiece head.
- Prevents oil from seeping into the head bearings, where it could trap debris and accelerate wear and tear.
- Reduces the risk of lubricant leakage during clinical use, which could affect the patient or compromise instrument performance.
